I, Huing Leie, as a 15 year old Japanese American, dont see why my two beloved countries need to be fighting. I go to Hunterdon Central Regional High School and I love it. My birthday just passed on August 1 and it was a very happy day. Everything is great in school except the fact that everyone hates me because i am part japanese. World War II is getting out of hand and a dont understand it. My distant cousin, was killed recently in a tragic attack on the Japan. Just recently, on August 6 at 8:16 a.m. to be exact, the Enola Gay dropped a bomb named "Little Boy" on Hiroshima, one of our much beloved Japanese cities, and "Fat Man" was the bomb dropped on Nagasaki. It wiped out so many of the people in our country, one of them being my cousin, that its rediculous. I am not sure how the Japanese are going to recover from this one let alone come back. From that alone they now know that the US is way too powerful to fight against fairly. They surely dont want that to happen again. With 80,000 to 140,000 Japanese citizens killed instantly and about 100,000 more seriously injured, there is no way that Japan can lose that many people again. It would be almost half the country completely wiped out. The Enola Gay is a B-29 Superfortress and a plane that the Japanese cant match. The bomb dropped on Hiroshima was made of highly enriched uranium-238 which is something the Japanese have no contact with. The bomb dropped over Nagasaki was made of another Japanese non-accessable isotope called plutonium 239. The Japanese could never create as much damage on the US as the US did on them. It would be impossible with the recources that they have and becuase the Japanese have no true allies they can not get it from any other countries. The Japanese have to come up with a major smart plan or else they wil have to surrender the war. I think that it is a good descision to surrender now and end the trauma in their country but the Japanese will never be smart enough to just give up, they think way to highly of themselves. They are asking for another bomb to be dropped and im not going to stop it.
